SHIFT

One fanny pack. An ICU that hides everything.

Pick your badge below. The RT works airways, oxygen and ventilators. The RN works lines, drugs, drains and skin — different bag, different patients, same shift.

At the vending machine you can buy two more pack slots (six becomes eight) and deeper reserves (half again as much energy). Both are permanent.

Every patient has a drop zone beside the bed — the hatched square. Stand on it and hold ACT to unload whatever they need.

Delivering a full step drops their care needs by one and buys back clock — but they aren't done yet. A new step appears with new tools.

Empty the care bar and the bed flags CHAIR. Grab a wheelchair from the bay, load him at the bedside, wheel him down to the waiting room and stand on EXIT. Only then is the bed free for the next admit — and don't dawdle, a patient left waiting on his ride will relapse and drop back into care.

Night shift left four rooms soiled. Nobody can be admitted to a soiled room, so haul the dirty equipment to the four bays in dirty utility. Fill all four and you get a full tank and thirty seconds of sprint.

The lunch room has coffee — hold ACT there to refill. Energy cans found on the unit go straight to your power rail; tap one anywhere. There are four: blue 25%, green 50%, amber 75%, violet a full tank. Cheap ones early, better ones later — but a violet can turn up any time. The streak behind you matches whatever you drank.

Once a patient's first care step lands, the unit starts throwing black clouds at you until they're discharged — freak events, at random. A power bump drops the lights and leaves you on a flashlight until a quarter of your tank burns off. A birthday party in the lunch room needs you there before the timer runs out. And "Hey RT" is exactly what it sounds like.

You get one black cloud per level — it might be a power bump, a birthday party, or every soul on the unit deciding they need you at once. Ride one out and you earn coins — more for the hard ones. Spend them at the vending machine in the lunch room.

Tap ACT to pick up a tool you're standing on. Dirty utility, bottom right, dumps your whole pack — hold ACT there too. Staff drift around the unit; you can push through them, but a crowd drags you to a crawl.

If a patient codes, find the crash cart and get it to their drop zone. Everyone shows up for a code. That's the problem.
